Orctoberfest 2015 Returns to Santa Cruz in the Catalyst Atrium, Friday the 23rd
Santa Cruz, California’s most metal Halloween show returns this year with Orctoberfest 2015 on Friday, Orctober 23rd at 8 PM in the Catalyst Atrium featuring A Band of Orcs and their shredding human co-headliners Prosthetic Records’ Exmortus.
A Band of Orcs performance will feature their new line up with Gronk! Shaman on high scream vocals and Cretos Filthgrinder on shredding guitars and gutteral growls. Oog Skullbasher will continue driving the war machine with his tribal beat downs and the latest adition to the band, Srig Foehammer on bass, will take the stage with the Orcs for the second time. Be prepared for new material from the Orcs’ yet-to-be-named forthcoming concept album about transdimensional-mind-fcking-demon-spiders-from the Abyss, due out in the first quarter of 2016 as well as their March of the Gore-Stained Axe Tribe EP that came out earlier this year and selected material from their earlier releases.
Coming fresh off their tour with Marty Friedman expect Exmortus to be ready to party like oRcstars with their twin Axe attack and boundless energy!
Also adding to the festivities will be Santa Cruz local powerhouses A Thousand Shall Fall; Oakland’s Genocide Skin, featuring members of Cyanic and Ghoul; and San Jose bludgeoners Section 5150.
Orctoberfest will be MC’d by none other than the Lich King himself from the latest Dubious Alliance expansion set Lair of the Lich King. He appeared earlier this year at the KublaCon game convention and caused no end of trouble for Gronk! and Oog, but he’s not dead yet, so we figure if you can’t beat ‘em make ‘em join you!
All you budding horror and fantasy make up and FX artists better bring you’re a-Game. Trick or Treat Studios will be sponsoring a “Most Metal Costume Contest” judged by owner Chris Zephro and their world renowned VP of Art Direction Justin Marby, whose designs are featured on almost every costume store in America’s shelves.

Friday the 13th Unlucky? Not in Hirntodia! Buy New Music from A Band of Orcs
Luckily for you humans A Band of Orcs have now released New Music for Friday, March 13th in defiance of your foolish superstitions.
For the first time since the Madness at the Core of Time Tour, the creatures in A Band of Orcs will raid with D.R.I., Angerhead, The King Must Die, and Cultural Warfare at the Back Bar in San Jose, California Realm on April 3rd. Ahead of their return to the battlefield A Band of Orcs have begun beating the wardrums and have unleashed a Digital Triple Shot available exclusively on their BandCamp page for your bloody enjoyment.
Formerly a 5-piece war machine, A Band of Orcs returns on this recording with Oog Skullbasher, Cretos Filthgrinder, and Gronk! the Shaman, as a death metal trio in the wake of the demise of two former WarChiefs.
The “March of the Gore-Stained Axe Tribe” demo is a warning flair to humanity signaling the savagery to come in early 2016.
Recorded at Trident Studio with Engineer/Producer Juan Urteaga (Machine Head, Testament, Hatriot), Gronk! the Shaman takes the high road handling the bardic scream-cantations, while axe-wielder Cretos Filthgrinder takes the low road, fielding the Gutteral verses in this dual vox frontal assault. Oog Skullbasher continues to administer the tribal beat downs in the latest battle hymns to arise from Orc Tower.
Track 1: “Chata Urklud Cruaksi” is a traditional battle chant of the Gore-Stained Axe Tribe, delivered in the native Hirntodian Uruk tongue, accompanied by Oog’s drums of war and the instrumental sorcery of Cretos and Gronk!.
“March of the Gore-Stained Axe Tribe” translates some of the Orc language battle chant into Humanese, incorporating pieces of lore from the founding of the Gore-Stained Axe Tribe into the tale.
Track 3: “Heaving Death” is the name of a plague found in Hirntodia. The song relates how Cretos became orphaned from his original people, the Twin Blades Tribe, when the yellowed-robed priests of the pestilent sign sailed their black ship into the harbor of his former home, Trito Craa Sertrob, unleashing the alchemical plague upon his once mighty folk, utterly decimating them. Suddenly cast adrift from his former people, this is the reason Cretos came to fight his way into the Gore-Stained Axe Tribe.
If you are part of the Bay Area California Tribe and go to the raid with D.R.I. on April 3rd you will also have a chance to meet the newest and 4th member of A Band of Orcs going forward, bass-player Srig Foehammer, who was liberated from the slave mines of the Hill Giants when the WarChiefs incited an uprising to defeat the horrid flesh traffickers – a tale told in the song “Of Broken Chains & Shattered Skulls” on the last concept album “Adding Heads to the Pile.”
The next chapter in the Mythos of A Band of Orcs begins with a line-up change and new tales with the “March of the Gore-Stained Axe Tribe” digital release. So, enjoy the latest offering to Gzoroth from A Band of Orcs – “Raise your axe, raise your shield, raise your Tusks high!!!”
Our First Show Since the Madness at the Core of Time Tour, April 3rd
Did you miss us, humans? We’re back from Hirntodia! We’ll be performing our first raid since the Madness at the Core of Time Tour in 2013. This time we tear up the stage with the legendary thrash-punk crossover masters Dirty Rotten Imbeciles at the Back Bar in San Jose, CA with our allies in Angerhead, the King Must Die, and Cultural Warfare. We’ve made some changes in the last year and can’t wait to reveal them to you. A hint: since the tragic second and final death of Zombie Orc Guitarist Hulg ElfR.I.P.per and the madness resulting from finding the Yellow Sign of former WarChief and vocalist Gogog Bloodthroat that lead to his being cursed to roam the blasted doomscape of Hirntodia chasing ghosts and demons, we’ll be introducing you to a new orc, the latest member of the Gore-Stained Axe Tribe and A Band of Orcs’ line-up to assault your frail human eardrums. Be there!
